Texas Driver Record Report
When you take a defensive driving course online, a copy of your Texas driving record may be required by the court. A Texas driving record report provides a history of violations, suspensions and other details about your driving history.
You may order your driving record online directly from the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) at www.texasonline.com for delivery in five business days. Be sure to allow for delivery time when considering the deadline imposed by the court. You must complete the course and submit your Certificate of Completion and your driving record, if required, to the court where you received your traffic ticket prior to the deadline. A Texas County Clerk's Office directory with a list of locations for submitting your driving record and certificate of completion is provided for your convenience.
In Austin, Garland, and San Antonio, Texas may obtain a driver record report the same day of your request at the following locations:
Lower Your Insurance Rates by as much as 10%
A copy of your Texas driving record can also be helpful if you would like to lower your insurance rates. Taking a defensive driving course and providing a copy of your driving record to your insurance provider may lower your insurance rates by as much as 10% for a three-year period.
